Just an update on where we stand. We now have 22 guys signed up to play middle school football and 16 signed up for high school football and there were a couple on the fence last night that we expect to hear from this morning! We are so excited to see so many come out to play! Pray that more decide to join us. This is shaping up to be a great year!
We met last Thursday in a continuation of our meeting earlier in March to plan our summer fundraiser. The plan is to host a video game tournament. The tournament uses NCAA Football 2013 that is due out on July 10. The game release is a really big deal every year. We will have our tournament on that date to generate excitement on being the first to play that game. Entry fees will be around $25 per person and we are aiming at 64 or so contestants. We will give entrants a T-shirt. We also want to give away door prizes every hour to keep the contestants there buying concessions after they have been eliminated from the tournament. We need item donations for those door prizes. We also need sponsorships. These sponsorships could provide food for us to sell (Crossroads Grill has offered to provide sausage biscuits for breakfast), or door prizes, or buy a copy of the game (they are about $60 each and we need several), or buy an add (on the T-shirt, on the big screen, etc.). Our goal is to have sponsorships cover the costs so that we make all the money off of entry fees and concessions. Please get out there and see who can help and how! We also still need an advertising campaign of some sort. It doesn't have to be big, but we will need to reach outside of RCA with this to reach a goal of 64 contestants. Please give any input or ideas you may have!

RCAFootball SUMMER 2013 Workout for "Home Away from Home"
It's difficult to balance the newest training research with our time, needs, and availability to get the best results so our kids can be competitive and healthy throughout the season. After a lot of research, reading, and talking with experts from professional, olympic, collegiate, and high school sports training, I have developed this routine. This routine has the warm-up included. The whole of this particular workout is to maximize explosive strength and speed. It is what we will do on our Tuesday/Thursday workouts this summer. I'll continue to research training methods and results and change our workouts to get the best out of our kids! Please understand that this is collected from a lot of other coaches' and researchers' work.
